Our mission:

Our association, Passion Chardonnay, was founded in 2014. Its purpose is to promote Champagne wines made from Chardonnay grapes, and its members represent the full diversity of Champagne's chalk soils.

Our logo depicts a microscopic view of coccoliths. Do you know why? In ancient times, Champagne was a sea, and certain marine algae, known as coccolithophores, produced calcium carbonate plates in the form of calcite: chalk. It is these solidified deposits of coccoliths that make up our chalk soils, dating back to the Cretaceous period, around 90 million years ago!

The chalk soils in Champagne, which can be up to 200 meters thick, form a valuable reserve of water and minerals for the vine cycle and help to cope with climatic hazards. All the conditions are in place to produce magnificent Blanc de Blancs Champagnes.

As the third generation of winemakers, we took over the family domain in 1998, growing vineyards over 7 hectares (17.3 acres) around Bassuet on the hill slopes north of Vitry-le-François. The soil is chalk, ideal for Chardonnay. Through the four seasons, we carry out all the steps in growth and winemaking, with our sole purpose : to respect and hightlight the authenticity of our terroir. Today, we use only sustainable growing methods, together with our know-how, in order to offer you the most pleasurable tasting moments.

Acquired in 1885, this family house located in the Côte des Blancs grows 8 hectares including 4 hectares in the Grands Crus of Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry.
Our philosophy : let human hands be as gentle as possible in order to express all potential brought together by this exceptional chalky terroir, chardonnay grapes and old vines.

For four generations, our family-run estate has combined tradition and modernity to craft authentic cuvées. Our 4-hectares of vineyards are spread across Premier and Grand Cru villages, predominantly planted with Chardonnay. All our parcels are certified High Environmental Value (HVE). Our philosophy is to respect nature, intervene as little as possible in the winemaking process, and highlight our know-how as well as the terroir of Trépail. The blocking of malolactic fermentation is part of the winemaking choices applied to all our cuvées and has become the house signature.

We are winemakers from father to sons for 5 generations.
Our vineyard, rooted in chalk soils, is planted only with chardonnay. It extends exclusively on Cramant, Chouilly and Oiry, 3 Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs (this region is regarded as the reference for Chardonnay in Champagne). It benefits from an exceptional climate and a remarkable exposition.
We develop the following 3 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru cuvées : the EXTRA BRUT, the PERLE and the mono cru "CRAMANT" vintage.
We strive to work in the purest tradition in order to produce wines worthy of the reputation of Cramant.

If Champagne in Montgueux is a recent story, our family always had a foot in the vineyard. Jean Velut was one of the first to believe on the terroir of Montgueux. His son Denis and his grandson Benoit are currently working on 7.7 hectares, of which 85% chardonnay and 15% in Pinot noir, and produces 28 000 bottles per year. The philosophy in the vineyard has always been to be technically irreproachable and to use chemicals cleverly. Fertilization is 100% organic (horse manure, guano, barks) and grass is 100% mechanically managed. In the cellar, the same choice is made to act as less as possible.

Their passion for vinegrowing had led them to the elaboration of an unusual range, composed of only Grand cru chardonnay wines. This choice of a single grape variety comes from their instinct, their heritage and their senses. Their attraction for the aromas and the infinite possibilities afforded by the chardonnay help them to produce this very special range of Blanc de blancs champagnes.
At blending time, their guardian angel helps the couple to test the still wines and to decipher all the flavours and aromas. With the help of their oenologist, their progressively list and rank their future wines. Ten cuvées, ten hints of chardonnays are thus separated. Contemplation, tasting, determination.

Our family lives in Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs area. We have been working in our vineyards for five generations, using our whole harvest to make the highest quality champagne. All the chardonnay are located in the Côte des Blancs terroir.
The creation of BONNET-GILMERT Champagne took place in the 1950s by Colette GILMERT and Robert BONNET. Today, Aude VAUBAN and Carla BONNET, their granddaughters, have taken over the family brand and continue to evolve the work of both vineyard and wine.

Champagne André JACQUART is now settled in Vertus after having been located in Mesnil-sur-Oger for a long time, in the heart fo the Côte des Blancs. Created in 1958 by André JACQUART, the estate is now managed by Marie DOYARD since 2004, André’s granddaughter and great-granddaughter of Maurice DOYARD, founder of the CIVC. She represents the fifth generation of a family where the notion of transmission of heritage has always been very strong.
« Expression of a terroir ». The André JACQUART range is a real « stamp » of terroir from Vertus and Mesnil-sur-Oger : long ageing before marketing, low dosage, no malolactic fermentation and vinification in oak barrels from Burgundy.

Delphine & Pierre-Emmanuel Laborde

Nogent l'Abbesse

Delphine grew up in Nogent l'Abbesse, on the southern slope of the Mont de Berru, a small mountain to the east of Reims.
After a 12 years professional experience as a winemaker, she took over the family vineyard with her husband Pierre-Emmanuel in 2018.
The 5.7-hectare (14 acres) vineyard planted with chardonnay is cultivated without herbicides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers. The wines are vinified in small stainless steel vats and oak barrels. Intervention is kept to a minimum, allowing the wines to express their full potential.
Only the juices from the cuvée (first press) are blended to create the champagnes, which have a fresh, delicate and silky style.

A Clos, A Family, A Premier Cru.
Based in Vertus, Emmanuel and Charles represent the 5th generation fo this family house.
The vineyards grown from field selection only, on average 40 years old, are located mainly in Vertus Premier Cru.
The Clos Notre Dame, a monopoly of the Fourny Family since 1930, is one of the many plots vinified as as single vineyard.
After picking the grapes at their optimum ripeness, the vinification is kept as neutral as possible, to maintain a neat style with great freshness and power, together with a low dosage.

Champagne house Pierre Legras designs champagne wines full of character.
Pierre Legras’s house owns 25 acres of vineyard, among which 17 are classified as Grand Cru on the Chouilly terroir of the Côte des Blancs.
Our viticulture is sustainable, with special care brought to the respect of the environment.
HVE certification has been obtained in 2020.
